Diabetes ManagementTo manage diabetes you must get medical advice; it is not a disease that is managed by taking advice form friends or family. The tests to discover if you are Diabetic and what type you have (Type 1 or Type 2) are fast and are not painful.
After your medical advisor diagnoses you, they will decide with you on a management system. This may involve taking tiny blood samples every day, which are practically painless and using a small hand-held machine (smaller than many mobile phones) to give you a reading. This reading will indicate how you are managing your diabetes and gives you more information on how to proceed with your diabetes management. You may have to take tablets or an injection daily which you will quickly get used to; the important thing is to get in control of your diabetes and live your life to the full - being a diabetic does not have to limit you! |
